This song was released on March 5th 2021, but the concept began in the Spring of 2020 during the confining and pressurized circumstances of the world-wide pandemic. I had been feeling "stuck inside" with my family. I managed to pry myself away for a walk in the woods just uphill from my home in Ithaca NY.

The song is meant to inspire us to get outside, even when the weight of the world is on our shoulders. It's meant to invite us into the present moment, to tap the beautiful and replenishing aspects of nature. And last but not least, to remind us of our resilience and the sunlight within, even in the darkest of times.

There’s heavy weight in this lonely town (I will rise)
The streets are empty without a sound (I will rise)
